RERFORMATION YEARS

Reagan Youth, a band that started back in 1980 when Ronald Reagan was elected president, wanted to expose Reagan and his republican party’s fascist tendencies, the evils of society and the hypocrisy of the religious right with music that rocked the urgency of their message.

When Paul Cripple reformed the band in 2006 he was able to get Steve and Al Pike, the rhythm section, from Volume I and the drummer from Volume II Johnny Aztec, as there wasn’t a bassist to access from Volume II because Paul was the bassist on that record as well as the guitarist. Pictured above from left to right is Steve a.k.a. Keith Moon's ghost, Johnny Aztec, Pusi Koorahtz/Paul Cripple/Joey Turk and Al Pike who make up all the musicians from their record albums; Volumes I & II. Both Al Pike and Johnny Aztec played a bunch of tour dates from 2006 until 2009 because unfortunately those two insisted on playing the songs in a different manner which Dave Insurgent never condoned. Like because Dave wasn't around anymore they thought if they started doing shit like playing drum rolls on the cymbals instead of the toms and making loud fart sounds from the bass, y'know so they could stick out like sore thumbs as if that made them all important or something. So Paul Cripple found a rock steady rhythm section and eventually found it with Tibbie X on bass who has played alongside Paul for now over a decade.

Tibbie X, born into stifled suburbia, got inspired by the music of Reagan Youth in her early rebellious years. She escaped to find her punk rock home in NYC and has been part of the family ever since. Tibbie X fronted the chaos punk band X-Possibles and s/m focused sleaze punk band known as GASH as she toured extensively all over Europe and the states. Years later when hearing that Reagan Youth was in need of a bassist back in 2011 she decided to get a bass, figure it out and gave it her all to play the music that influenced her life path so she learned how to play the two songs Paul asked her to learn “Whipping Post” by the Allmans and “Green Grass and High Tides” by the Outlaws and she played them perfectly and that was it she was in. Tibbie X currently resides in Philadelphia, PA. and as the bassist in Reagan Youth she can be found onstage with Paul Cripple blastin' punks with a hellishly heavy bass resounding effortlessly with the rest of the band.

Paul Cripple, pictured above, assumed Reagan Youth was a failure due to the lack of interest during the band's latter half (Reagan's second term) and the fact that the last album was immersed in wicked and malicious situations that affected his mindset for a long time. 18 years later he moved back into the Lower East Side where he ran into some punk rockers who ended up booking a Reagan Youth show; The Woodstock Of Hardcore. Paul agreed for the hell of it and figured it'd be a one time thing until people started talking shit, like Paul was in the band for a second or who played guitar originally So Paul went and got Al Pike and Johnny Aztec, from the 80s, to play live shows but they weren't interested in performing the songs the way Dave Insurgent insisted they be played. Paul came up with songs for one last album, about the life and times of his dearly departed friend and singer Dave insurgent. Unfortunately the band members were not interested in anything except complaining. Go figure. Only one of these new songs has been released, "Lucky 7". That is the only song, released as a demo, he would sing because of its lyrics glorifiying drug use. Is it a wonder that he later died in 2014 from drug use? No it's isn’t and Reagan Youth is most definitely not about abusing drugs though three former band mates have passed on from it (possibly a fourth member, Rick Royale their third drummer, because Paul has not heard from Rick since he met him and complained of a drug dealer having put a gun to his head. Others who knew him have told the same thing). Paul will continue working on one last album so possibly Dave Insurgent can one day have a different ending to his life's story. And may my former band mates rest in power; Dave Insurgent, Andy Apathy, Rick Royale & Kenny Young. Your contributions were great enough and won't soon be forgotten.

Paul is now battling stage 3 cancer so tour dates are out of the question and of course recording the new material is most definitely doable.

So there you go.

Salute 🤘🏼
